Top 10 Car Exports Sep 2021
A total of 53,586 units were exported in September 2021, up from 39,126 units in the same period last year. Hyundai has three cars in the top ten while Maruti Suzuki has two cars. Other carmakers include Nissan, Volkswagen, Honda, Renault and Kier.
In the top ten, only Celtos has a negative YoY increase. If we consider the top twenty exported cars, the Maruti Espresso falls into the same category. Missing in action is Ford that had previously stopped production for the domestic market. Ford cars like the EcoSport, Figo and had zero exports in September 2021.
Car Exports September 2021 – Varna leads
Hyundai Verna recorded an impressive YoY profit of 64.14%. A total of 4,604 units were exported in September 2021, up from 2,805 units in September last year. 8.59% share in exports. In the domestic market, Verna competes with Honda City and Maruti Ciaz. Verna received an update in May earlier this year. A major update was support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for S + and SX trims.
In second place, Maruti Desire exported 4,277 units in September. YoY growth 354.52% compared to 941 units in September last year. 7.98% share in exports. Last month, the India-spec Desire was updated with Suzuki Connect Telematics. Other Maruti cars like Breza and Swift have also received this update. The connectivity platform allows users to access a range of smart features such as live vehicle tracking, remote access, geofencing, navigation, and intrusion alerts.
Nissan Sunny III exported 3,891 units in September. Exports accounted for 7.26%. In September, Maruti Baleno exported 3,231 units, followed by 7 YoY growth increased 41.40%, compared to 2,285 units in September last year. Exports share 6.03%.
In India, Baleno is expected to launch in its new-gen incarnation soon. Cosmetics are likely to grow and a range of new features. The hatch can get a new touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control.
